About my FootDr
Walking Tall is a charity set up to put shoes on the fett of the homeless and disadvantaged. In its inaugural year we are supplying more that 4 dozen pairs of brand new shoes to disadvantaged people around Brisbane City. This is all made possible by shoe giant NIKE and Brisbane Podiatrist Andrew Barlow.
Andrew, a podiatrist with myFootDr, is passionate about the community and healthcare. Whilst working with the homeless and disadvantaged at various community run events he noticed the quality of footwear was very poor and often non-existent. Generally there are limited resources available for the necessities of living in the homeless and socially disadvantaged community which is detrimental to their holistic health. Andrew felt that there was a need for Walking Tall to reduce the exposure of these people to the elements and health conditions such as infections and ulcers that are related to poor (or no) footwear.
Our vision is to expand our charity to encompass not only Brisbane's homeless and disadvantaged but all of Queensland and eventually the rest of Australia.
