Avril is a qualified podiatrist originally from the North-West of Ireland. She qualified with a Bachelor of Science, in Podiatric Medicine from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2017. She completed her training in both public hospitals and private practice, providing her with extensive clinical training in various aspects of podiatry.
Since graduating Avril has worked in private practices in Ireland and also worked privately as a sole trader providing podiatric services to local hospitals and nursing homes. She moved to Sunny Australia in 2020 to gain global experience and to expand her knowledge further. Having worked in private practice in Sydney for 6 months, Avril is excited to return to Melbourne and be a part of the Foot and Ankle Team.
Avril has extensive experience in general treatments, nail surgeries, diabetes and management of the high-risk foot. She is rapidly expanding her understanding of biomechanics and orthotic therapy thanks to her keen interest in sport. She is no stranger to sports injuries having been an athlete all her life. Outside of work Avril plays Gaelic football for Padraig Pearse’s GAA Club, she also enjoys going to the beach and going for coffee dates with friends in the local cafes.
