Pierre Strickland is a highly motivated and accomplished health professional with a diverse academic and clinical background spanning podiatry, public health, and biomechanics. He graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2006 with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry), before later returning to academia to complete a Master of Public Health with distinction at the University of Newcastle in 2021.

Pierre began his clinical career at the high-risk foot clinic at John Hunter Hospital, where he gained extensive experience managing complex and acute lower limb conditions. His work included the care of patients with pre- and post-amputation presentations, as well as those with significant comorbidities requiring multidisciplinary management. During his time there, Pierre demonstrated initiative and innovation by establishing the hospital’s first podiatry biomechanics laboratory, becoming a pioneer among his peers in advancing clinical assessment and treatment capabilities.

Recognised for his strong work ethic and commitment to improving patient outcomes, Pierre was selected to join a specialist outreach team from John Hunter Hospital to the Solomon Islands. In this role, he contributed to the education and training of local healthcare workers in podiatry and the management of complex lower limb conditions, supporting capacity building in an international health setting.

Pierre later co-founded and served as Director of Lake Macquarie Podiatry, where he developed a strong focus on sports podiatry and lower limb biomechanics. He has worked closely with strength and conditioning professionals, including involvement with programs linked to the NSW Waratahs pathway, contributing his expertise to the development and performance of young athletes. He is also a qualified Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach with Australian Strength and Conditioning Association.

With a personal background in competitive sport—including rugby union, rugby league with the Sydney City Roosters, and high-level sprinting in the 100m and 200m at regional and state levels—Pierre brings a practical, athlete-informed perspective to his clinical work.

Driven by a strong commitment to lifelong learning and intellectual curiosity, Pierre is currently considering further academic advancement through a PhD, with interests spanning both sports science and quantum physics.
