At My FootDr Stirling (formerly Adelaide Hills Family & Sports Podiatry Centre) our friendly podiatrists and support staff are committed to providing you with the highest quality foot care and are here to help assess and treat your feet to get you back to your normal life.

The development of a child’s foot and lower limb is critical to ensure that they are able to enjoy a happy, healthy and active adult life. Kids feet and legs develop very rapidly, and it can be difficult for parents to know what is normal, and what isn’t. The growing foot needs special care as the bones are predominantly cartilage, and as such they cannot be considered “small adults”. The start of the new school year often means that new school shoes are necessary. Here is a quick overview of a child foot and some tips on getting fitted for good quality shoes for your child this year.

A podiatrist specialises in treating problems with and injuries to the feet, ankles, legs and knees, as well as optimising their function.
A podiatrist is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) after studying for a minimum of four years.

It goes without saying that children are always growing and changing! It’s exciting to watch them grow and become more confident on their feet. This often quite rapid growth, however, can result in children experiencing vague symptoms that can be difficult for parents to identify – or know what to do to help.
